May in Colorado is Birthing Time!

There is a small farm close to our home where Paint Ponies are raised---they are some of my favorites as their colorings can be so unusual.  I drive by several times a week and I've been watching for the birth of these little ones.  It happens every May around this time....there are still a couple of moms with large tummies waiting to give birth, but I thought I'd share with you the new little ones I saw and was able to pet yesterday....If you click on the LINK above, you can read about this interesting breed, which is the second largest breed registry in the United States.

a round tummy....I wonder what color this little one will be!

This mom had already given birth and was really friendly

Love her 'choker'

Look closely to see a little one out there

a teeny little one- just two days old on the other side of this mom

hard to believe this brown and white came from black and white....but so cute!

The grass is green.....from all the rain......this is unusual in Colorado....
I'm sure the horses love it, too!!!!!

This little one is too tired to even stand up!

just sleeping soundly with all of the other horses grazing in the pasture...so peaceful!

I hope all of you are having a wonderful Spring---it's been such crazy dangerous weather for so many....from tsunamis and floods to tornadoes and earthquakes, volcanoes erupting and covering the earth with its sooty mess....

I'm counting my blessings....
