My recent Cupcake Contest!

My daughter Amanda and I wore matching aprons--it was so kind of her to help me out that evening, especially after putting in almost a 12 hour day in the vet hospital.....

The 'regular' bakers had to bake three different recipes and plate them all creatively for the judges.  We had to have 54 plates of cupcakes PLUS cupcakes for display

folks had to pace themselves or get overly sweet!

The prizes were on the far table---framed cupcake and two bottles of wine from the cupcake winery          http://www.argonautliquor.com/r/winery/cupcake-vineyards.html
So, I didn't win, but I learned a lot, had GREAT fun, met LOTS of wonderful people in the community who LOVED my cupcakes and wrote to me, came up to me afterward, etc. AND some of my family was there to share it all with me.......and my sweetheart helped me pack up the car and clean up the kitchen afterward!!
Have Sifter Will Travel!!!!
Well......just you wait......I'm dreaming up some new flavors for next year!!!

Oh yes, I didn't tell you my flavors:  Chocolate covered Cherries, Strawberries Cream Puffs, and Love a Latte which was a spicey cake with a coffee frosting made with marscapone......YUMMY!

  1. Dear Joann,
I so enjoyed reading your post! You and Amanda look ADORABLE in your matching aprons! Your cupcakes look and sound delicious. Thanks for sharing the whole cupcake experience with us. It looks like it was a lot of work, but all worth it in the end. Must have been so nice to have your family there by your side and have the other guests come up and speak to you. You did a fabulous job, and in the end, it doesn't matter that you did not "win", just participating makes you a winner. Wish I was there to vote for you too. Happy weekend! xoxo

All looks wonderful and I'm sure the love & support you got from everyone made it a really fun (if exhausting) event! What were winning flavours by the way? Yours sound divine! xoxo
